7 Spots to Check Out in Ara Damansara
Ara Damansara has seen a number of new restaurants and cafés sprout up over the past few years. In this list, we’re highlighting a few of our regular food haunts in the area. We’ll share another list focusing on cafés in the future.
1. Dudu Yummy

[Non-halal] This cha chaan teng/kopitiam has recently expanded into a new corner lot. Two of our favourite stalls here are the char siew rice and the Penang koay teow th’ng. We visit this place on a weekly basis. See our post here.
2. Wartek

[Halal] Wartek serves Indonesian fare such as bebek goreng, ayam pop, and dendeng berlado. This spot is especially busy during lunch hours. Check out the post here.
3. Kaya Bakery

[Pork-free] This is our favourite place to buy bread. Friends love their sourdough, but we gravitate towards the homemade kaya and red bean buns. The English muffin here is excellent too. More details here.
4. Restoran Do Re Mi Curry Mee

[Non-halal] We don’t eat curry mee often, but when the cravings hit, we head to this stall at Do Re Mi for Ipoh-style curry mee topped with siew yoke. Read more in this post.
5. Tian MiMi

[Pork-free] This new restaurant serves Hainanese chicken chop, pan mee, and Teochew porridge. Prices are on the higher side, but they use quality ingredients. More in this post.
6. Shan Mu Cafe

[Pork-free] This café offers minimalist, Japan-inspired rustic charm, with dishes like salmon ochazuke, aglio olio, and gyudon on the menu. Check out more here.
7. Petiteserie

[Pork-free] We often grab croissants and pastries from here, but don’t miss their lunch sets as well. Read more in this post.
