Awesome Char Koay Teow, Penang
[Non-halal] Awesome Char Koay Teow 齿刘香炒粿条 is a stall located inside New KK99 Cafe in Tanjung Bungah.
Operated by Mr Low, this stall was recently inducted into the Michelin Bib Gourmand list.
Aside from that, Mr Low was the 2nd runner-up in the 2023 Penang CKT competition.

Given the accolades, the CKT must be good right?
The answer is yes. For RM8, the small plate had the essential wok hei and char that make a good CKT. The prawns were big and fresh, and there was just the right amount of chilli bite in the mix.
Compared to others, Mr Low is more generous with the crispy pork lard.
We also ordered a plate without chilli – which was still very tasty.
Conclusion
Despite being on the Michelin Guide, there were no foreign tourists here at all and we got our order in five minutes. The patrons here are mostly locals including teachers from the international school across the road.
If you want a good plate of CKT that’s not too busy and out of Georgetown, this is worth checking out.
