Coffee Dumbo in Chifeng Street, Taipei
Come for the coffee, stay and explore the area for the vibes. Located in Chifeng Street in Taipei, Coffee Dumbo is one of our favourite cafes we visited in Taipei.
While the café has limited seats inside, Coffee Dumbo has a window for takeaways.

We really like the façade of this café with the row of plastic yellow chairs and iron grille that recalls of the 60s.
Find posters of famous ’80s pop movies (Back to the Future, E.T) inside the café and a Felix the cat wall clock ticking the time away.
Chifeng Street – from traditional to new
This particular area was bustling on a Saturday evening. This area was originally known as Taipei’s “iron street” as it was dotted with many scrap metal and auto mechanic shops in the past.
Today, it is considered one of the hipster-ish streets in Taipei with many cafes, vintage clothing stores and craft shops opening in the last few years. It kinda reminded us of Seongsu-Dong in Seoul.
But you’ll still see some remnants of the past as some old shops still operate their businesses here.
Vintage clothes shops and popular eateries
We enjoyed our stroll in the Chifeng Street area and checked out many of the vintage clothes stores and cute cafes.
Other popular cafes we found here include Tella Tella Café (another café with cool vintage vibes) and R9 Café, while eateries here with long queues include Niya Oyster Ramen 二屋牡蠣拉麵 (famous for ramen served with fresh oysters) and a stall in front of Coffee Dumbo selling modern-style Taiwanese Mee Sua.
Coffee Dumbo and Chifeng Street is located just next to the Zhongshan MRT station and the ESlite bookstore in the Zhongshan Underground Mall.
And yes – the coffee here at Coffee Dumbo is good.
