DV Ristorante Pizzeria
[Pork-free] DV Ristorante Pizzeria is a hidden gem in Bukit Damansara that serves Italian comfort food.
Located on Jalan Setia Bakti, DV Ristorante offers everything from pasta to pizzas with a friendly neighbourhood vibe.
DV Ristorante Pizzeria in Bukit Damansara
We visited DV twice in the last two months. Service here was impeccable on both occasions, and the servers were always happy to make recommendations.
Recommendations are truly welcome here, as the menu is quite extensive – offering over 15 types of starters, 22 types of pasta/risotto, three mains, and 21 types of pizzas.
We like that DV offers fresh handmade pasta as well dry pasta. There’s also an off-the-menu option to upside the pasta portion in case one serving is not enough.
For those working in the area, DV Restorante Pizzeria also offers set lunches priced from RM30-45, which comprises starter, main, tea and ice-cream.
Lamb meatballs
The Lamb Polpette (RM36) seems to be a popular order here for starters.
The meatballs here were quite sizeable with a home-cooked quality to it (in a good way). The meatballs had a pleasant texture, with no strong “gamey lamb flavour” as they were deftly tempered by spices for a balanced taste.
Risotto with Squid Ink and Calamari
The Risotto with Squid Ink and Calamari (RM38) impressed us in the right way thanks to the generous amount of Parmesan to yield a creamy and cheesy texture, and a touch of sourness to cut through the heaviness.
Aglio Olio Seafood
We enjoyed the Aglio Olio Seafood (RM40) served with squid, prawns and mussels.
Opting for the handmade fresh pasta, we quite enjoyed the soft texture that absorbed the flavours of the sauce well. The sauce had plenty of seafood essence, with just the right amount of tanginess to enliven the buds.
All the seafood was fresh and cooked perfectly.
Have a pizza my heart
In contrast to the Neapolitan-style pizzas that have been all the rage these few years, we quite enjoyed DV’s thin and crispy crust.
The thin crust were aptly contrasted by the juicy and moist toppings. Our Boscaiola (RM50) featured toppings of lamb sausages, porcini and champignon mushrooms on a tomato-based pie, which worked well as a combo, and nicely accentuated with sharp hits of parmiggiano reggiano.
Broccoli and prawns
We opted for spaghetti to go with our Broccoli and Prawns (RM38). Among all the dishes we tried, this had the most homely quality (i.e. something we can cook at home) which may underwhelm some.
Summary
All in, we enjoyed the food here. Service is excellent and we like the homely, cozy vibe that the restaurant offers.
