[Non-halal] Easy Chicken Rice 一喜烧腊 in SS2 is one of the newer chicken rice spots in Petaling Jaya, specialising in roast meats (siu mei) such as poached chicken, siew yoke and dry-aged roast duck. Located in the popular SS2 food area, this spot is worth checking out if you’re looking for a reliable plate of chicken rice in PJ.

A New Chicken Rice Spot in SS2
We’re always on the lookout for good chicken rice in KL and PJ, so we were glad to discover this relatively new addition, which opened in 2025. The menu focuses on a full range of siu mei, from carefully poached chicken to crispy roast pork and dry-aged duck.
Double Combination Roasted Set Meal
The Double Combination Roasted Set Meal (RM19.90) offers solid value for money. It comes with your choice of beverage, with optional upgrades to curry or dried flounder soup.
Poached Chicken & Rice
We opted for the poached chicken breast, which was tender and naturally sweet. The accompanying ginger condiment was particularly fragrant, adding a nice lift to the dish.
The use of quality jasmine rice also stood out—fluffy, aromatic, and a key factor in making a good plate of chicken rice.
Siew Yoke & Roast Duck
The siew yoke retained its signature crispy crackling, with well-balanced layers of meat and fat for a satisfying bite.
The roast duck is dry-aged for 12 hours before being roasted over charcoal, resulting in succulent meat with a nicely tightened skin.
More Than Just Chicken Rice
Beyond classic rice dishes, Easy Chicken Rice also offers roasted meats served with ochazuke and noodles, providing some interesting alternatives for diners.
Final Thoughts
If you’re looking for good chicken rice in SS2 or Petaling Jaya, Easy Chicken Rice is a solid new option. With well-executed roast meats, quality rice, and reasonable pricing, it’s a spot we’re happy to return to.
