Fish In Bowl Restaurant, Subang
[Non-halal] Tucked away in Subang, Fish In Bowl Restaurant 鱼你见面 is one of those quiet neighbourhood spots that does one thing really well — fishball noodles. It’s a simple, no-frills shop that regulars keep coming back to, especially for breakfast or a fuss-free lunch.
We first stumbled upon this restaurant a few years ago while visiting Crackpots Coffee Roaster nearby (see post here), and it has stayed on our radar ever since. Located in USJ 1, Fish In Bowl started out as a humble neighbourhood noodle stall before growing into a local favourite.

The highlight here is their fishball noodles, served in a clean and comforting broth. The soup is light and clear, allowing the natural sweetness of the fishballs to come through. Nothing too salty, nothing too heavy — just the kind of bowl you can happily finish down to the last sip.
We liked that the fishballs are made fresh daily using ikan parang (wolf herring). This gives them a naturally sweet, clean flavour and that signature springy QQ bite. They’re firm without being rubbery, with no strong fishy smell — just pure fish flavour that feels fresh and honest.
Fishball Soup Noodles
The regular Fishball Soup Noodles (RM11) come with six decently sized fishballs, along with crispy bits that tasted like fish crackers. The broth remains light and clean without being bland, making it a soothing and satisfying choice for breakfast or lunch. The portion size was generous for the price.
If you’re in the mood for something richer, the Dry Curry Chicken Noodles (RM12) are an easy upgrade. The noodles are tossed in a soy-based sauce and paired with tender curry chicken that brings warmth and spice without overpowering the dish.
The curry has a pleasant creaminess from santan with just the right hint of heat, and the chicken thigh was tender and substantial enough for a full meal.
Don’t forget to order the Beancurd Barley (RM3.50) to wash everything down — a refreshing way to round off the meal.
