GC Passionate – Tom & Jerry Cheesecakes

[Pork-free] In the year of the Tiger, will Tom finally win?

The folks at GC Passionate sent us these lovely CNY bundle of Tom & Jerry cheesecakes. 

As the name implies, these cheesecakes are made to look like the cheese you see in the Tom & Jerry cartoons.

And we found them pretty delicious! Here’s what we had:

1. Chocolate Chocolaty 

This slice is definitely our top pick! Made to look like a marble cake with swirls of chocolate in between, the chocolate provided a nice balance to the sharp cheese flavour. 

We really enjoyed the velvety milk chocolate taste, which reminds us of a very good chocolate bar with 50%-60% cocoa. In terms of texture, it was smooth like a very good chocolate mousse. This was so good!

2. Matcha

  • Cheesecake

This is our second favourite of the lot as the matcha is super rich and full of umami. It’s like drinking hojicha in cake form. GC Passionate uses matcha from Niko Neko – which really blends well with the cheese flavour. Matcha fans can’t go wrong with this. 

3. Lotus 

The Lotus slice contains Biscoff biscuit crumbs, which provide a crunchy texture to the cake. The buttery sweetness of Biscoff also adeptly complements the cheesy taste. 

4. Original T&J

Most closely resembling the cartoon cheese, the original flavour contains strawberry fillings, cookie crumbs, and caramelised almonds in the middle. We did find the cheese taste was quite strong during our first few bites.

However, the sweetness of the fillings helped to temper the cheesy taste – and we’ve slowly come to enjoy it. This flavour is definitely recommended for those who favour a strong cheesy taste.

Overall, we were pleasantly surprised by the T&J cheesecakes.

We enjoyed the flavours more than we thought as they were not artificially sweet, and helped to tone down the sharpness of the cheese. 

Our favourites in order of preference are Chocolate, Matcha, Lotus and Original. 

In our opinion, GC Passionate did a good job of incorporating these flavours into the cheesecakes by using quality ingredients. And they looked ever so cute and presentable too.
