[Pork-free, Muslim-friendly] If you’re a PJ peep like us – you’ll know that Paramount Garden is a food haven (and by extension Sea Park nearby as well).
There’s O&S, Loong Foong Roast Duck, Al-Ehsan, and One Half x ilaika (which used to be a dai chow place we liked), among others. Get Baked x Journ is the latest addition to this area.
The cafe caught our attention immediately with its clean and modern aesthetics. We especially love the large windows (allowing plenty of natural light to flow through), and the open kitchen concept.
The menu looks interesting too with pasta, Niko Neko matcha, and pastries on offer. As we already had lunch, we opted to share a Matcha Bostock (RM16).
Matcha bostock
The bostock tasted as lovely as it looked – wonderfully-baked brioche drenched in decadent matcha cream and topped with a generous amount of crispy almond flakes.
It was very moist, with a nice one-two punch of nutty matcha and sugary sweetness. Ming did, however, find it too sweet for her liking, while Max thought it was just nice. Coffee’s excellent too – perfectly extracted, strong and smooth.
The other items which piqued our interest were the special butter in three flavours – kombu, garlic, and mentaiko. We’ll probably try them when we come back for their hot meals and other baked goodies (croissant and choc au pain, we have our eyes set on you!).
