[Pork-free] Whenever we are in Klang, we have to stop by Regent Pandan Layer Cake Shop to tapau (take away) pandan layer cake.

Usually we can book and collect within the day – but it has become quite popular. This round, there was a crowd and we had to wait an hour to get it (and no bookings allowed). 

No problem! Regent also supplies to a local bakery chain – Golden Bake Cake House (opened by Regent founder’s son) with a few branches in town. 

  • Queue too long? We just popped by Golden Bake Cake House a 5 mins drive away
  • Our beautiful Pandan layer cake (no need to wait!)
  • Other cakes at Golden Cake
  • Philippine choc cake

So, we just popped by the Kampung Jawa branch (about 5 mins drive away) and immediately got our pandan layer cake (RM52 for 1kg)!

We really love this cake – it’s light, fragrant and so easy to eat. But for some reason, our Klang-ites friends find them ok-ok only.

So here’s our tip – if Regent takde, pergi lah ke the Golden Bake. Harap maklum.

Golden Bake also offers other delicacies such as durian layer cake, Philippine choc cake and marble cake.

* There are a few Golden Bake Cake House branches in Klang. Do search in Google Maps/Waze and call in advance to see if they have stock. The other branch (on Jalan Tengku Diaudin) is really close to Regent.
