[Non-halal] Here’s a hidden gem in Plaza Mont Kiara. After boxing class on Friday night, we met up with some friends at JinJin Soora 진진수라. Operated by a Korean family, they offer Korean BBQ but what really stood out were the set meals.
The set meals priced at RM30-40 appear a bit steep but they come with a main dish, stew and rice. Dishes include bibimbap, bulgogi, dakgalbi and godeungeo gui (grilled mackerel). Stews include sundubu, doenjang and kimchi jiggae.
That’s all fine and good – but the portion was unexpectedly huge for the price. I was expecting a small bowl of stew (as a side) but it is actually big enough for a meal by itself.
Bulgogi Doenjang-jiggae
I enjoyed my Pork Bulgogi (non-spicy) – portion was great and meat was tender and flavourful. I like that it is not too sweet (the not-so-secret to bulgogi’s sweetness is the addition of pear). No complaints about my Doenjang-jiggae either.
My friend’s Beef Bulgogi was more impressive – it came on a small stove with a steamboat hotpot of kimchi-jiggae.
Samgyetang
The Samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup) here is also quite sizeable for the price.
Together with the banchans, we definitely got our money’s worth here.
