Kaya Bakery in Ara Damansara
[Pork-free] Kaya Bakery is one of our favourite neighbourhood bakeries in the Ara Damansara area.
After our usual keow teow th’ng and chicken rice at Dudu Yummy across the road (see our post here), we often tapau some breads at Kaya Bakery.
Recently, a dear friend (who also lives nearby) turned our attention to Kaya’s excellent homemade English Sausage Muffin.
We love our McD’s sausage McMuffin – so we knew we had to try this one out!
Kaya Bakery offers sourdough, cakes and more

Kaya Bakery is part of Joshijosh’s Halal-certified catering group.
In fact, Joshijosh was one of the earliest F&B operators in the Ara Permata area before the recent boom in restaurants and cafes.

Kaya Bakery opened its door in July 2024 – and offers fresh bakes such as sourdough, breakfast buns, and cakes.
The outfit also operates a hot kitchen offering warm meals such as Irish Lamb Stew, Big Breakfast, and Beef Burger.

On the weekends, the specials come out to play – such as Lamb Chop with Mash, waffles, pancakes and the afore-mentioned Sausage Muffin.
English Sausage Muffin at Kaya Bakery

We recently caught up with our friend (the one who lives nearby) for brunch and promptly ordered the English Sausage Muffin (RM18.90).
So did it hit the spot? Yes!

The whole ensemble comprises handmade chicken patty (juicy, flavourful), cheese, has brown and egg in between two soft and pillowy muffin buns. It’s 3x better than the one at McDonald’s as it’s made fresh and is not overly-salted with fresh ingredients used.
Kaya croissant and Matcha red bean

Our favourite buns to tapau here include the regular croissants, Kaya croissant (RM6.50) and Matcha Red Bean buns (RM6 for three small buns).

The Kaya croissant is lovely as it is filled with a generous amount of homemade kaya that has enough coconut and pandan fragrant (and not too sweet). The buns are soft for both – which makes for perfect treats for adults and kids.

Our friend also regularly takes home the sourdough bread here for her kids.
Conclusion
We definitely recommend coming here for the English Sausage Muffin and baked goods.
