[Non-sponsored, honest review] We went green instead of red for Lunar New Year!
Just joking, haha. We just actually tried the new Zero Chicken Burger from KFC.
Made with no meat, KFC actually collaborated with Quorn to make these patties from high-quality protein source that’s high in fibre, low in saturated fat and is cholesterol-free.
However, we wished KFC were more specific though on what the patties are made of.
A cursory check on Quorn’s website shows some of their patties contain pea protein and egg whites.
No matter, the burgers are not for vegan or vegetarians anyway ‘coz they use cheese, and patties are cooked at the outlet with their chicken fryer.
The more important question: Nice ar? The patty actually tastes very similar to their nuggets in terms of flavour and texture. Personally, it’s worth trying once but not something we’d order again (We actually prefer their Zinger burger ‘coz of the actual chicken fillet used).
Having said that, the meat-free fillet is actually quite sizable so it does fill up our tummies.
We also tried their Golden Butter Cereal chicken. It’s not bad – the texture of the batter is similar to butter cereal prawns. Crunchy, flaky with a hint of spiciness and tang. We like that they also provided two cups of crunchy bits with the chicken. You can kinda eat the flakes on its own haha.
