Kimbuksoon Keun Nambijip
[Non-halal] This is one of our favourite spots for kimchi-jjigae in Seoul.
Located in the Gangnam district, Kimbuksoon Keun Nambijip (Kimbuksoon’s Big Pot House, 김북순큰남비집 신사본점) is a long-time favourite among both locals and celebrities.

It gets especially busy during weekday lunch hours, as the restaurant is known for serving some of the most comforting dishes in the area. The walls are lined with copper pot lids covered in celebrity signatures, adding to its charm and reputation.
Kimbuksoon’s Kimchi Stew

Kimbuksoon specialises in Korean stews served in traditional copper pots. The menu highlights three classics: kimchi-jjigae, sundubu-jjigae, and doenjang-jjigae. They also offer a variety of sides, including seafood chive pancakes and grilled pollock.

We usually come here for the Kimchi-Jjigae with Pork (KRW 11,000 / USD 7). Made with a generous amount of well-fermented cabbage kimchi, the broth has a pronounced sourness with enough heat to cut through the richness. The pork and tofu are fresh, which suits our taste perfectly.

We also enjoy the banchan (side dishes), which complement the stew well and round out the meal.
Conclusion
If you’re ever in the Sinsa-dong area and looking for an affordable spot for comforting Korean food, this is the place to go. It’s especially satisfying on a cold winter day. RECOMMENDED!
