Kopitiam 7, SS2
[Non-halal] Kopitiam 7 七号咖啡店 is a new addition in the popular SS2 commercial area.
This restaurant 七号咖啡店 is located on the same row as Jeng Pan Mee (our current favourite spot for pan mee – see our review for the Subang branch here) and Shin Zushi.
Known for its Peking and Signature roast duck and siew mei, this is the second branch (after the first in Cheras) which had only been operating for a few months.
Kopitiam 7 in SS2
The space here is comfortable – with air-conditioning and enough space between the tables.
The roast duck is a specialty here – and it was nice. We tried both the breast and drumstick cut, which were tender, well-seasoned and fatty in the right way.
You could order the whole duck on its own (a full portion cost RM85-90) or have it with rice and noodles.
Wanton Noodles with Roast Duck
We had it with Dry Wonton Noodles (RM15.80) and char siew. The noodles here had a good QQ texture but we did find the soy sauce mix a bit too heavy (as the roast duck was also quite flavourful).
The char siew was just average.
We prefer the Siew Yoke (RM16 for small) as the marinade was just perfect. It also retained its crunchy skin, wasn’t too fatty and was tender.
Noodle texture for the Homemade Pan Mee (RM12.80) was good but they needed to dial down the soy sauce in the broth.
Conclusion
All in, the roast duck is definitely the star dish here, and we’d also recommend the siew yoke. The portion is also very good for the price.
