Kuro Coffee in PJ
[Pork-free] Kuro Coffee in PJ was highly recommended by a friend for its excellent coffee, and it did not disappoint.
Sharing a space with Dainese in Seksyen 51a PJ, Kuro is smartly decked in a monochrome palette, as it shines the spotlight on coffee beans sourced from Ethiopia to Yunnan.
Kuro Coffee offers a lovely selection of curated beans
All the beans here are brewed in-house. While Colombia and Ethiopia single-origin are usual suspects in most microbreweries – we were most delighted to find Gesha varietals from Yunnan, China served here.
These featured beans come in both washed and natural process – and ties in with the featured calligraphy art at the store. As intrigued as we were by the Yunnan coffee, alas we were seduced by the vanilla notes of the Honduras (RM45 per cup), processed in barrel fermentation.
Charcoal Swiss Roll and more
The taste is clean with whisky-like tannin – a perfect accompaniment to the Charcoal Swiss Roll (RM12). For serious coffee drinkers, kuro Coffee is worth the visit.
