Lim Kee Pan Mee, Cheras
[Non-halal] Restoran Lim Kee Pan Mee is located in Taman Taynton View, Cheras.
This restaurant always seems to have a queue whenever we pass by – so one day we decided to try it.
Surprisingly, the waiting time was only about 5 minutes for our table at 1pm on Saturday.

As the name implies, Lim Kee specialises in pan mee.
Lim Kee offers three types of handmade noodles – thick, thin, and hand-torn – in dry or soup versions.
You can order pan mee in the traditional style (i.e. crispy fried anchovies, minced pork), chilli pan mee, pork pan mee and dumplings pan mee. Prices start from RM10 and you can also add toppings here.

We are quite serious about our traditional pan mee and the one here did not disappoint.
For the soup version, we found the soup to be properly savoury and sweetened with lots of sayur manis, despite adding choy sum (+RM3) into the bowl.
All the key ingredients were done well – the ikan bilis was crispy, the minced pork was seasoned nicely without being too heavy on the soy sauce mix, and the mushrooms added enough colour to the dish. The thick noodles were smooth and had a satisfying bite as well.
The Dry Pan Mee (RM10) was also quite delicious, although we thought the soy sauce mix was slightly on the heavier side. But we were pleased with the generous amount of sayur manis in the small bowl of soup.
The portions for both bowls were really good for the price, and the accompanying chilli had a good sour-spicy kick to it.
We were less enthused about the Pork Dumplings (RM2.50 per piece). While they were quite big for the price, the dense filling is not to our preference.
Conclusion
All in, Lim Kee Pan Mee offers a good selection of pan mee dishes that are a bang for the buck. It is no surprise that this restaurant has a constant queue during peak hours.
