[Muslim-friendly] You don’t need a Magic 8 ball to know that ice cream equals a good time! Last weekend, we checked out Matcha Eight at LaLaport, Bukit Bintang City Centre (BBCC).
Matcha Eight at LaLaport
Established in April 2021, Matcha Eight serves 100% natural Japanese tea ice cream made with the finest single-origin tea powder imported from Wazuka, Kyoto.
Eight flavours curated with Japanese Master Chef
Matcha Eight offers only eight flavours – developed with Michelin-starred Master Chef Takuji Takahashi from Kyoto to offer the most authentic Japanese tea ice-cream.
What we tried
Here’s what we tried: No. 6 Melodrama Queen – A blend of matcha and sencha, we enjoyed the strong bitter aftertaste with a robust matcha aroma. Aunty-speak: Not very sweet – which means good!
No. 8 Ho Ho Hoji – This is basically a double shot of hojicha (No. 7). We enjoyed the strong roasted bitterness that lingers, and addictive umami depth.
Go check out their website here to find the full description of their flavours.
We advise you to come early before 11am on weekends to avoid the long queues.
