Miyatake Sanuki Udon TRX

[Pork-free] The popular Miyatake Sanuki Udon in Mont Kiara has opened a second branch in TRX.

Unlike the branch in Mont Kiara, this one does not serve pork.

This branch is also a hidden spot as it is located at the grocery section of Seibu TRX.

Despite that, Miyatake Sanuki Udon remained quite popular and we had to queue for dinner recently.

Miyatake Sanuki Udon, Mont Kiara

The restaurant is known for its chewy udon that’s freshly made daily. They also service one of the biggest and tastiest chicken karaage in town.

We are happy to report that the udon and chicken karaage here is on par with the ones at the Mont Kiara branch.

Wakame Udon

The Wakame Udon (RM20) may be one of the simplest offerings here, but it is the best way to enjoy udon in its purest form.

Seasoned with the only seaweed, the broth is clean, sweet and appetising. The noodles are served al-dente with a satisfying chew.

We paired our udon with a side serving of Ebi Tempura and Eggplant Tempura for a fuller meal. Both tempura pieces were executed well with a nice crispy batter.

Chicken Karaage

Miyatake Sanuki Udon is known to serve some of the largest and juiciest Chicken Karaage (RM21 for 3 pieces) and the ones here did not disappoint.

The batter is crispy, the meat is juicy and the pieces are huge.

As this branch does not serve any pork, some of the offerings here differ from the ones in Mont Kiara.

We found the Ebi Udon (RM30) to be quite satisfying as the broth is rich in prawn essence with a hint of spiciness. The two prawns served were also fresh.

Summary

All in, we enjoyed the meal here at Miyatake Sanuki Udon at the TRX branch. We also tried the Coriander Beef Udon on another occasion; if you like coriander, this should hit the spot as they are very generous with the coriander.
