Nareo Donut in PJ
[Pork-free] There’s a new spot in PJ for freshly-baked donuts.
Opening its doors last month, Nareo Donut offers a range of soft, pillowy donuts (with and without fillings) alongside freshly brewed coffee in the heart of Taman Paramount PJ.

The owner had previously trained at Melbourne’s popular Shortstop Coffee & Donuts.
Friends who visited both spots said the Nareo’s baked goods closely resembled the ones at Shortstop.

Nareo Donut currently offers eight different flavours on the roster – including best-seller Matcha Cheesecake (RM12) and Mandarin Yuzu (RM12.50).
We enjoyed the base texture of the donuts. They are soft and pillowy, with enough bounce for a satisfactory bite.
Matcha Cheesecake and Hazelnut

The Matcha Cheesecake is generously packed with matcha cream cheese filling that’s rich with matcha flavours. We also enjoyed the Hazelnut (RM10) – a donut with a hole in the middle and topped with decadent dark chocolate and generous bits of roasted hazelnuts.

The donuts are good for takeaways too – the Mandarin Yuzu retained its structure when we savoured it back home. The yuzu cream was well-balanced, which was tempered with just enough sweetness.

The black coffee is excellent to help wash down the donuts.
Other donuts offered here include Boston Cream, Coconut Kaya, Tiramisu, Cookies and Cream, and Cinnamon Sugar.
