[Non-halal] Get the pork out and eat!
Omega Pork Noodles is the latest specialty pork noodle shop in Kota Damansara – the other being the popular Ten Noodles and another that came and closed down last year.
First impressions – this place has a clean, comfortable and “up-scaled” feel compared to other noodle shops.
The unique selling point (USP) here is RM3.50 for unlimited refills of coffee, tea, juices and herbal drinks. Since that felt a bit gimmicky, we skipped this and just focused on the main dishes.

The verdict? The Pork Noodles broth is quite tasty, with a light soy sauce taste and mild sweetness from the cooking wine and cabbage. We generally don’t like a “heavy” soy sauce taste for our chee yuk fun, as we enjoy the natural sweetness from the pork meat. We found the soup here to be well-balanced and not too salty.

The meat cuts here are excellent though! While the meat portion is less than Ten’s (we sometimes struggle to finish the bowl there) – Omega’s pork is of a distinctively higher quality.
The liver was sliced thinly and cooked perfectly – it was neither bloody or rubbery. It was soft with enough bite. The pork belly slices and the huge slab of minced pork were both superb too – generous portions were given for these parts and they tasted very fresh. Not bad for RM8.50 a bowl.

The Dry Noodles were ok-ok only lah in our books – as the soy sauce mix is quite bland. Go for the soup version instead.
Side dishes for RM3.50 
Lobak 
Omega also offers plenty of side dishes ala dim sum-style for RM3.50. The Lobak was quite decent.
However, we were unexpectedly surprised by their Handmade Fishballs (RM8.50 for six) – it had a nice bouncy texture with plenty of fish taste.

Overall, while Omega’s portion is not as good as Ten’s – we like it for the taste, meat quality and space. Worth a try!
Do strategise as it gets quite busy during lunch and dinner hours. They also serve Penang-style white curry noodles and porridge.
