Pluto Chiang Mai
[Non-halal] There’s hundreds of themed cafes in Chiang Mai, but Pluto definitely stands out for its unique post-modern building that takes inspiration from space.
The grey exterior is a perfect shot from any angle, but a step into the cylindrical building is like a step into a spaceship command centre.
Pluto has quite an extensive menu – with offerings from specialty coffee drinks to pasta and desserts named after celestial bodies.

The Lunar (THB95) is a refreshing concoction of coffee, pineapple shrub and soda; and the standard Latte (THB85) was satisfactory too.
The Uranus (THB225) – a mille feuille dessert filled with strawberries and custard cream – was the best dessert we had in Chiang Mai.
The puff pastry was delightfully crispy with just the right amount of caramelised sugar, and the cream was just perfect in sweetness and texture.
Pluto is definitely worth checking out if you’re in Chiang Mai.
