[Non-halal outlet] Wow, people are going K-razy over K-BBQ!
Last night, we were in Uptown and saw so many K-BBQ joints with long queues. Think it’s the cool, rainy weather that calls for a nice BBQ.
This reminded us of the time we visited QingHeGu in 163 Retail Park a few weeks ago. We arrived a bit late at 8pm, and waited about 25 mins for a table.
Side dishes Free coffee and sikhye Free ice-cream
It was worth it! The banchan (side dishes) here are not bad (I particularly enjoy the pumpkin) and we also get free-flow servings of coffee, ice-cream and sikhye (sweet rice drink).
Galbi
We ordered the Galbi or pork rib (RM40 for 280g). The rib is imported from Spain and is marinated for 24 hours in their special sauce.
This is lovely – the meat was soft, tender and flavourful. The marinade is sweet-savoury and tasted sorta like low-key char siew. It caramelises particularly well on the charcoal fire.
We also tried the Cow Tongue (RM40 for 150g), which had a nice bite to it (pun not intended) and not gamey at all.

The Doenjang-Jigae (RM30) was nice but not exceptional (as we can cook a similar pot at home, hehe). We like that it has enough doen-jang taste.

The Cheese Egg Roll (RM30) and 14-day aged pork belly seem quite popular here too.

They have a branch in Damansara Uptown as well as a Halal-certified outlet in Tropicana Golf Club House. Overall, we think this is one of the better K-BBQs in town (they gave us a RM10 voucher too, yay!).
