We finally got my first taste of Nasi Padang since MCO!
This is my first time here – as Masakan Padang Asli Kampung Baru (see review here) remained closed during our visit in June.
However, this place is definitely more comfortable (yay – air-cond!) and spacious. This place is also related to Masakan Padang Asli – so the food is on point!
Max’s plate – gulai tunjang, terung berlado, tempeh, sambal ijo, sambal terasi
This restaurant is quite accessible as it is located on the main road – Jalan Raja Muda Abdul Aziz – of the Kampung Baru enclave.
As always, we enjoyed the Dendeng Berlado (RM6) – crispy deep-fried beef topped with sambal. Their Sambal Berlado and Sambal Ijo are still #dabombs!
Dendeng berlado
Other dishes I like here are the Gulai Tunjang (been tendon curry) and Terung Berlado. The tendon was glutinous, tender, and super delicious -having absorbed the goodness of the curry.
Ming’s plate – Gulai ayam, omelette, sayur masak lemak
Ming also enjoyed the Gulai Ayam. The chicken was superbly tender and tasty. She appreciated that it was flavourful without being spicy (pedas).
If you are craving for Nasi Padang, you can’t go wrong here. Nasi Padang was my our last meal outside before #mco – it feels good to be back here!
Check out our visits to this restaurant on our Instagram post here and here.
Also check out our review of Masakan Padang Asli, also located in Kampung Baru, here.
Nasi Kapau (click here) is another favourite spot of ours for Nasi Padang.
