Sei Ngan Chai Bak Kut Teh in Klang
[Non-halal] Sei Ngan Chai Bak Kut Teh (or Four Eyes Bak Kut Teh) is a popular spot for BKT in Klang.
Operating out of a corner house lot in the middle of Klang city centre, Sei Ngan Chai offers cauldrons of pork in herbal stews from 9am-10pm daily (closed on Mondays).

We came here for an early dinner at 6pm on a Saturday. Despite the busy-ness, we were able to get a table and the friendly boss was very quick to get our order.
The claypot Bak Kut Teh soup soon arrived. While we found the soup to be herbally, it was not as thick or fatty as the ones we tried in Klang (Weng Heong BKT, 155 Bak Kut Teh, Ah Her BKT).
The soup here is more generous which should please those who don’t like the gravy-like soup. The best part of the dish is the excellent cut of meat. We got almost a full rack of pork ribs that’s very tender with plenty of meat to keep us satiated. There’s the usual shimeji and button mushrooms in the pot as well.
Dry BKT is fragrant
We found the dry BKT here to be very fragrant. In fact, we do prefer this to the traditional soup BKT. The meat is tender with lots of dried cuttlefish and cili padi for a very robust bite.
Our bill, which included rice and greens, came up to RM47.50. This is quite a reasonable price, in our view.
Summary
We found the BKT here to be better than average, with the dry BKT as the standout. As everyone has their preference, we can understand why this is a favourite spot for some.
