[Halal] Seniman Kakao is a must-visit for chocoholics! From the founders of Artisan Roast coffee, Seminan Kakao started in 2015 producing chocolate products using local cacao. The vision continued with the opening of the cafe in Pudu last year.
We love this space – quaint, spacious with the original structure of the colonial shophouse still intact. But the chocolate drinks are what we are here for.
We enjoyed the Choconut (RM15) – pure chocolate mixed with coconut water served in the coconut(!) The sweetness of the juice blended very nicely with the bittersweet chocolate – yielding a really refreshing drink.
For purist, you really can’t go wrong with their Milk Chocolate (RM13) which uses single origin beans. The chocolate drink is creamy, not too thick with the natural chocolate flavours at the fore.

But if you really like your kakao #extrakao (geddit?) – go for the Chocolate Shot (RM10.50) – 35g of warm single origin chocolate straight from the spout. We sampled it – lovely, thick, chocolate-y goodness!
There’s aplenty of chocolate drinks on offer – e.g. Pure Chocolate, Cocoa Tea, Mayan Tea – as well as chocolate desserts, bars and coffee.
Food is also available here but we makan already before we came here. The menu looks comprehensive though with everything from big brekkie to sliders to rice bowls.
We loved the space – especially upstairs where we could chill like back in the colonial times.
