Shui Kee Steamed Chicken PJ
[Non-halal] Shui Kee Steamed Chicken 水记滑鸡粉 is located in PJ OId Town.
With 40 years of legacy, Shui Kee used to operate as a stall at the Jalan Tandang Medal Selera in PJ OId Town before it moved into its new spot some 500m away.
The new premise is located just next to Kepong Heng Kee BKT, and offers plenty of tables and parking space for a comfortable dining experience.
Nevertheless, prices here remain affordable with chicken rice starting from RM7.

As the name implies, Shui Kee specialises in Ipoh-style steamed chicken, served with rice or noodles.
For large groups, there’s the option of a whole steamed chicken (RM42) which can be enjoyed with rice, noodles and porridge.

For single portions with rice or noodles, prices start at RM7.
Side dishes here include bean sprouts (RM2), veggies, chicken feet and giblets.
Chicken rice and kai si hor fun

The Chicken Rice with Breast Meat (RM8) was a bang for the buck.
Both the chicken and rice portions were 1.5x the size of the usual servings at other chicken rice stalls.
But more importantly, the chicken was sweet and tender – and served with a perfectly balanced mix of soy sauce.

We also enjoyed the Kai Si Hor Fun (RM8). The soup was subtly flavorful with a generous amount of shredded chicken, fish balls and fishcakes. We liked that they used the thicker meehoon which gives more body to the meal – and were also well-seasoned on its own.

The portion of the Steamed Bean Sprout (RM3) was incredibly generous as well for the price. They were also plump and crunchy – with enough salty embellishment from the soy sauce gravy.
Conclusion
We were pleased with our meal here. We definitely recommend the spot if you’re looking for affordable and delicious chicken rice and noodles in the area.
