Three cafe spots in Bangkok
We visited a few cafes during our trip to Bangkok recently, and shortlisted three cafes spots that you should check out.
1. Benkoff, Thong Lo

This little cafe is the most charming on the list as it features two cute dachshunds as its ambassadors.
Benkoff occupies a very small space, and the two doggies – Bobby and Billy – only come out to meet guests at 2-4pm.
It can get very crowded after 2pm as they have their fans, so we recommend coming at 1pm to enjoy some peace and quiet before their arrival. Benkoff also sells merchandise such as T-shirts, blind boxes and stickers.
And yes – the coffee and banana muffin were delicious.

2. PAGA Microroastery, Sukhumvit

For quality filter coffee and award-winning beans, check out PAGA Microroastery in Sukhumvit.
PAGA is founded by award-winning barista, Gabriuel Carol – who was crowned Romania Brewer Cup Champion twice.

The space here is bright, open and minimalistic, and there’s plenty of beans to choose for the coffee connoisseur.

3. Song Wat Coffee Roasters, Song Wat

Song Wat Coffee Roasters (SCR) is probably the coolest cafe in Song Wat aka Chinatown.

SCR is located in a small alleyway and next to the San Chao Lao Pun Tao Kong temple. Find artisanal coffee and pastries here – including the Pandan Canele, which we devoured during our visit.

Address: 578 Song Wat Rd, Chakkrawat, Samphanthawong, Bangkok 10100, Thailand
Hours: 9am-5pm Weekdays, 9am-6pm Weekends
Bonus: Nai Mong Fry Oyster

If you’re in Song Wat, check out Nai Mong Fry Oyster near The Wat Mongkon station. It is only a 9-minute walk from SCR. For THB100, you get some of the plumpest fresh oysters cooked with omelette. There’s plenty of wok hei in our plate, and we definitely prefer the soft omelette version which is reminiscent of Penang or chien.
