[Non-halal] The last kopek, or shall we say, kopi-ek! ☕🤪
Some time back, we were in the Kepong area and decided to check out WS Kopitiam’s famous Ham Kopi (salted kopi).
The special concoction begins with coffee beans roasted with NZ butter and Himalayan sea salt.
The brewed kopi is then mixed with condensed milk, and evaporated milk stewed with salt and butter.
It is then blended to combine the flavours, and finally topped with more condensed milk and salted kopi.
The result? Rich, creamy kopi ping with a salty aftertaste. We especially like the overflowing foam yang meleleh.
We thought that the saltiness was not too overpowering (our tastebuds weren’t heavily as-salted, haha, geddit?) but it does reduce the bitter aftertaste of regular kopi peng.
If you like your kopi peng very ‘kau’ with a strong bitter end, this might not be for you.
Overall, the ham kopi is worth trying once – but we are unlikely to specifically come back for this.
They also serve salted teh peng and salted cham peng.
We arrived at 2pm on week day, so there was no crowd. Unfortunately, most of the stalls were already closing. The Roti Bakar was okok-je, and so was the Prawn Mee.
The Curry Mee seems quite popular (from our research) but the stall was closing when we arrived.
