Our dear friend gave us this beautiful @anatomy_co notebook for us to scribe our recipes.
We love it – the hand-wrapped cover, the cute fish illustrations, stickers, and the personalised ThokohMakan inscription.
Here’s a quick reflection on TKM. We started ThokohMakan back in May 2019 to journal our food discoveries.
We then started our blog in March 2020 – right before the first MCO began.
We’ve always cooked at home. It was at this time that we decided to write down all our recipes (because we tend to forget them after awhile, lol) for our future reference.
We began writing on scraps of paper (bad idea 😬) before we upgraded to a nondescript Buku Latihan we used in school.
One of our first recipes. We started by writing in random scraps of paper. Our first Buku Latihan. Three notebooks in… what an upgrade to ana tomy.
It was at this time too that we began to share our recipes on Instagram and this blog.
We didn’t expect it to get so much love and traction – and here we are, into our third notebook (what an upgrade! 🥳🥳) with over 60 recipes shared.

We’ve learned a lot from you guys (and with you all) and made many new friends as well. It has certainly made this pandemic period alot more bearable.
