[Non-halal] Here’s out FAVOURITEST Sarawak Laksa ever!
Today, we wanted to try the kai si hor fun at Thong Kee Cafe (as recommended by a friend) but the queue was so long!
So, we just detoured to Restaurant Sea Park on the same row for our favourite Aunt Christina’s Sarawak Laksa.
No regrets! The last time we had this was via Grabfood during MCO. Nothing compares to eating a freshly-prepared hot bowl of laksa!
For RM10, the Sarawak Laksa comes with two sizable tiger prawns, shredded chicken, egg strips, taugeh and noodles. Seriously, we have tried a few Sarawak laksas in KL – and nothing beats Aunt Christina’s.
Aunty’s recipe has the perfect blend of herbs and spices – resulting in such a rich and aromatic soup. It has the right balance of santan, sour and savoury notes – which I’m sure to finish it to the last drop!
The soup is quite delectable as it is – but a squeeze of lime and sambal just elevates it further.
The prawns were fresh! We also appreciate that Aunty gives more soup now in a larger bowl (vis-a-vis previously when I often wished for more soup).
While waiting for our bowls, we ordered the Cucur Udang (RM4.50 for three) for a different stall. The cucur was very tasty and crunchy, as they are freshly cooked at a shop across the road. However, we thought the sambal could use a bit more kick. Nevertheless, we didn’t need it as the cucur was good on its own. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Besides laksa, Aunty also serves kolo mee, kacangma, ngor hiang, pig tummy pepper soup and tomato noodles. My Sarawak-ian friend would approve!
