Piqulos Con Brandada
Our short lunch affair here warranted only two dishes to share:
We started with our meal with Piqulos Con Brandada (RM42) – smoked Spanish capsicum stuffed with slow-cooked cod fish.
The bell peppers were adequately smoked to tenderness, with a lovely mild sourness from the tomato sauce. The filling was creamy with a nice soft, flaky texture from the cod.
Seafood Paella
Our Paella de Marisco (seafood paella, RM130 for 2 pax) was decent. Rice was moist and beautifully infused with seafood broth. A squeeze of lemon juice helps to round off the edges.
The charred rice bits are the best (like the ones you find at the bottom of your claypot chicken rice). While protein was varied with prawns, scallops and squid bits – the mussels, and clams were unfortunately overcooked, dried out, and shriveled.
Verdict
Overall, Bocado offers a lovely space for corporate lunches during the day; and plenty of romantic flair when the light dims in the evening.
Bocado is part of the Cinnamon Group – which stable includes the celebrated Natalina, Nero Nero, and Nadodi.
