Jamun Restaurant in TTDI
[Pork-free] Happy New Year! As per tradition, we start our year with Banana Leaf Rice (BLR) as our first meal. For 2024, we decided to check out Jamun Restaurant at Glo Damansara in TTDI.

To be honest, we thought the BLR here was just ok.

While the BLR lunch set seems quite affordable at RM9.90 – we wished they had provided more than three veggies for the basic set.
The set came with only three veggies, pappadom, and salted dried chillies. They were decent but not memorable.
Chicken 65 and Mutton Varuval
The Chicken 65 (RM10.90) and Mutton Varuval (RM13.90) were also so-so. While they were cooked to tenderness, we felt they needed more spices and lacked the “oomph” factor.
Briyani and Spinach Dhal
Nevertheless, we did enjoy the upgrade to biryani for one of the BLR (RM17.90) as the rice was fluffy, tasty and fragrant.
The Spinach Dhal (RM13.90) was quite delicious too – freshly cooked with plenty of crushed lentils and spinach. Jamun do offer quite an extensive selection of dishes such as Palak Patta Chaat, Raw Mango Prawn Curry and Crab Rasam – so do check out their menu here.
