Lachér Patisserie in Mont Kiara

Lachér Patisserie is located at Menara The MET – a new building that houses a number of cafes.
We had to wait for about 15 minutes for a table on Labour Day, but there were people coming here for take-away if you’re in a rush.

Matcha Mont Blanc Tart and Otak-otak

The Matcha Mont Black Tart (RM23) is a popular order here, and we can understand why.

Made of layers of matcha vermicelli, chantilly cream, ganache and azuki red beans – we found the flavours to be well composed with enough umami bitterness from the matcha, and earthy sweetness from the azuki. The different textures complemented each together.

The Otak-otak (RM16) is Lachér Patisserie’s take on the local delicacy in pastry form.
The thick slab of otak-otak in the centre was well-seasoned with just the right hits of spices, and the pastry case was splendidly crisp.

The Egg Tart (RM11) also excelled with its multiple layers of pastry skin (crispy, crunchy, buttery) containing delicate, sweet and soft custard.
The black coffee was nice – but the cup was ill-designed as found it too hot to use when the coffee was served.
