[Halal ingredients] Mun KL is a new cafe that opened earlier this year in Bandar Sri Permaisuri.
Opened by astronomy aficionado Erin Ayshah, Mun intends to launch your taste buds into orbit with its asian-fusion meals, coffee and cakes.
It proved to be quite a popular lunchtime haunt for folks around here as it was quickly filled up by 12.30pm.
Fiery soft-shell crab pasta
My Fiery Soft-Shell Crab Pasta (RM24.50) features pasta coated with Malaccan-Portugese curry debal sauce and a deep-fried soft shell crab. It’s creamy and mildly spicy.
Tomyam seafood pasta
I found the Tomyam Seafood Pasta (RM24.50) to lack the sour tom yam punch – but it does well as a spicy seafood marinara. And they were very generous with the seafood.
Green curry will grilled duck breast Salmon Bangkuih
The Green Curry with Grilled Duck Breast (RM22.50) and Salmon Bungkuih (RM26.50) were ok-ok.
While the savoury were hit-and-miss, the cakes here are good.
Butterscotch bread & butter pudding
We all enjoyed the Butterscotch Bread & Butter Pudding (RM12) – bread was warm and soft, topped with a lovely sweet, creamy sauce.
Pineapple carrot cake
The Pineapple Carrot Cake (RM12) was another stellar dessert – it’s moist, soft with the perfect amount of nuts and fruits.
