Sheung Wan Noodle House, PJ
[Non-halal] We really enjoy the Hong Kong-style braised noodles at Sheung Wan Noodle House 上环粥面家 in Damansara Utama.
Having to travel to Hong Kong occasionally for work means we get to enjoy good Hong Kong-style beef noodles from time to time.
We’re pleased to say that Sheung Wan serves a bowl that’s comparable to what we’ve had in Hong Kong, with particular strengths in both the broth and the quality of the beef.

Sheung Wan Noodle House is located on the same row as The Ship, and close to Village Park.
The restaurant is usually quite busy, so expect to wait for a table during lunchtime.
The chef has been cooking beef noodles since 1968, and that wealth of experience is evident in every bowl.
Stellar beef noodles

Here’s why we like Sheung Wan’s beef noodles.
Imported from Hong Kong, the egg noodles retain a springy, QQ texture and cling perfectly to the savoury dry sauce.

The broth for the Beef Brisket & Tendon Noodles (RM26.80) delivers a light beef umami with herbal undertones and a subtle hint of sweetness. The beef brisket is excellent – extremely tender and without any gamey flavour.

We also really enjoyed the honeycomb tripe, while the beef intestines had one of the best melt-in-the-mouth textures, with a rich, buttery fattiness.

We returned on another day to try the Brisket in Clear Broth (RM68), a hotpot-style dish that can comfortably serve two people.
Slow-cooked in a herbal stock, the broth is incredibly appetising, with a gentle sweetness from the daikon.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
