Vission Bakery in Hong Kong
[Pork-free] We stumbled upon Vission Bakery when we were exploring the Mid-Levels Escalator area in Central, when we saw a long queue at this spot. So – it must be good right? The answer is yes!
Vission Bakery in Central
Located in Soho Central, Vission Bakery is the sister company to Tai Hang-based Cookie Vission.
With an endless queue, Vission Bakery is quite popular as it specialises in French puff pastries, cookies, donuts and their signature kouign amann.
However, our favourite here had to be the Matcha Mochi Danish. It was worth the queue, and revisit.
Matcha Mochi Danish is to die for
The Matcha Mochi Danish at Vission Bakery was our favourite pastry we ate in HK!
For HKD60 a pop, this danish is quite pricey – but we really think the quality justifies the price.
For one – the size is quite big for the price, and the matcha is the most potent we ate in a pastry.
The brioche feuilletee puff pastry is flaky and best enjoyed warm. The molten matcha sauce is decadently rich in matcha taste with a molten texture, and we liked how the mochi within the pastry helped to mellow down the richness.
It was so good that we bought this pastry twice – and it remained delicious hours later when we ate in our hotel room.
Pistachio Custard Tart
We also enjoyed the Pistachio Custard Tart (HKD68) – rich and creamy pistachio custard topped with praline and salted pistachio encased in crispy and flaky brioche puff pastry. It’s nutty, it’s creamy and utterly delicious!
The Matcha Mochi Brioche (HKD50) was good as well, but not as amazing as the Danish in our view.
RECOMMENDED!
Bonus tip: Check out Bakehouse nearby
There’s a Bakehouse branch nearby as well, which was recommended by a friend for their delicious Portuguese egg tarts. They were good too!
