You Fishball Seafood Noodles
[Non-halal] We recently had one of the better Teochew fishball noodles at You Fishball Noodles 友记西刀鱼丸粉 in USJ.
The fish balls here are made from fresh ikan parang that are sourced from Tanjung Sepat. The balls are well-seasoned with a nice QQ bounce.
We also found the other seafood (prawns, grouper, oysters) to be fresh, and the dry noodles here delicious.
You Fishball Seafood Noodles in USJ

Originating from Seri Kembangan, You Fishball Seafood Noodles had expanded to a few locations in Klang Valley. This includes the one here in USJ Subang.
The restaurant here is comfortable with two floors of tables, and is also air-conditioned.
Fishballs made from 100% wolf herring

All fish balls and fish cakes here are made with 100% sea-caught wolf herring (ikan parang) with no added preservatives. Ikan parang is the fish of choice to yield a springy and firm texture.
Aside from these, You Fishball Seafood Noodles also offers fresh seafood such as prawns, grouper, oysters and fish maw.
Other handmade items include fish dumplings and fuchuk.
Fishball Soup Noodles and Grouper Fish Noodles

After five minutes, our Fishball Soup Noodles (RM10) arrived piping hot topped with four fish balls, fishcakes and lettuce.
While clear, the broth itself was flavourful as it was boiled with the bones of wolf herring for hours. A perfect balance of natural sweetness and savoury goodness.
The balls were delicious as they had a nice bounciness, and we detected a hint of pepper to enlivened the taste buds. For the price, we thought the bowl was quite generously portioned.

The Grouper Fish Noodles (RM16.50) was also enjoyable as the boneless fish slices were sweet, fresh and cooked just perfectly.
Dry Noodles with Mixed Seafood

Given that the seafood is freshly caught from the Straits of Malacca, we couldn’t help but also ordered the Mixed Seafood Noodles (RM21.50).
We ordered the dry noodles version and we must say this was one of the better ones in town.
The soy sauce mix had a good balance of sweet and savouriness, and we liked that they used flat yellow noodles instead of the usual thick noodles.

But the highlight had to be the bounty of seafood in my bowl. For the price, there were plenty of fresh oysters, grouper slices and a singular prawn.
Fish Cakes

For sides, don’t skip the Fish Cakes (RM8) as they were juicy and bursting with fish flavours. The restaurant is also known for its thick fuchuk yi mai (beancurd with barley and ginkgo nuts) drink which we enjoyed as well.
Conclusion
All in, we were very pleased with our meal here. RECOMMENDED!
