Bangsar Venicia – a hidden spot for homely Chinese food
[Pork-free] Bangsar Venicia is truly a hidden restaurant, tucked inside the Bangsar Puteri Condominium compound.
There’s no visible signage, and you’ll need to register at the guardhouse before being allowed into the restaurant.
Despite its low-profile location, Bangsar Venicia has built up a loyal following over the years largely through word-of-mouth. In fact, we first discovered this spot through a friend more than a decade ago.
We used to frequent its sister restaurant – Damansara Venicia – before it eventually closed down.
A hidden spot for pork-free Chinese food

Bangsar Venicia recently re-entered our radar when we brought some overseas colleagues here for dinner.
Thankfully, the food remained consistently good, and our foreign friends particularly enjoyed the fried chicken wings, claypot curry fish, and salted egg sotong – all solid dishes.
A few days later, we returned on our own for another meal.

The Deep-Fried Threadfin in Soy Sauce (RM55) was satisfying, featuring a crispy exterior while retaining the firm texture of the fish. We also found the soy sauce gravy surprisingly delicious despite the absence of cooking wine in the preparation.

The Pumpkin Beancurd (RM18) features their homemade tofu served in a creamy pumpkin sauce that pairs especially well with rice.

The Nyonya Pucuk Paku (RM18) is another popular dish here, though we also enjoyed the simpler stir-fried version with garlic, which retained the vegetable’s natural crunch.
Conclusion

If you’re looking for good pork-free Chinese food at reasonable prices, Bangsar Venicia is still well worth checking out.
