[Muslim-owned] Bones Burger Joint in TTDI serves one of the best burgers in town!
The TTDI commercial area is a popular spot for burger stalls. Just take a drive around the square, and you would come across at least five burger stalls operating at the roadside.
However, we believe Bones Burger Joint completely smoked the competition with its fat and juicy homemade burger patties and delicious toppings.
Bones Burger Joint in TTDI
We’ve been hunting for good street burgers, and Bones Burger was recommended a few times.
Located in front of the Shell Station in TTDI, Bones Burger operates on Tuesday-Sunday (closed on Mondays) from 7pm until midnight, or until all burgers are sold out.
We believe the latter is the most likely outcome for most nights. Case in point – when we arrived at 7pm, there was already a queue with at least six people ahead of us. There was also an order of 10 burgers!
Nevertheless, it was only a 45-minute wait for our burgers. But definitely come early or be prepared to wait, as the stall continuously saw new orders coming in when we were there.
Honestly, the wait for the burger wasn’t too bad when we could watch brother John Fugu work his magic on the grill.
Bones Burger offers homemade patties
While there are only three items on their menu, simplicity is best when execution is perfect!
The main item offering here has to be The O.G (RM12) – 120g homemade beef patty topped with mustard pickle sauce, cheese, tomato, and savoury onion jam.
The Sloppy-G (RM16) is essentially the same as the O.G with an extra topping of Chilli Con Carne.
Meanwhile, those who can’t eat beef can opt for The Kaiser (RM12) – 120g homemade chicken patty topped with Caesar sauce, tomato, lettuce, and chilli flakes.
The O.G – fat, juicy and delicious!
While the juicy beef patties are the stars here, we thought every element just contributed to make it a very satisfying burger.
Let’s start with the patty for The O.G. The patty is fat, juicy, and nicely seasoned. While the patties get a proper char on the grill, we liked the bit of pinkness in the patty for a tender and satisfying bite.
The patty is wonderfully accompanied by the onion jam (hit of umami with lovely onion caramelisation), and the buttery goodness of the mustard pickle sauce.
And finally, the buns were super soft but not dry or mushy – as it was griddled for a bit before serving.
All of the elements were well put together!
Sloppy-G – with that extra drip!
We also enjoyed the Sloppy-G, which includes a dollop of chilli con carne to the O.G.
The minced beef stew adds a bit of spicy tang to the ensemble. We both definitely enjoyed this more than the O.G – but honestly, both burgers were delicious and hit the spot for us.
Summary
Overall, the burgers were one of the best we’ve eaten in a while. For the price, the burgers were definitely a bang for the buck. The burgers were super tasty, fat, juicy, not dry or overly greasy.
We will return to try their chicken burger, and double up the patties if possible.
