Chef Tam Cantonese Cuisine
[Non-halal] Chef Tam Cantonese Cuisine feels like one of those IYKYK spots in KL.
Occupying a shop lot in Eco Sky Kepong, there are only a handful of tables and private rooms here, but the decor feels suitably elevated.
One gets the feeling that Chef Tam used to work in a prestigious Cantonese banquet restaurant before opening this space.
The patrons are mostly regulars, the menu is limited, and be sure to ask about the off-menu specials.
Signature Crab Shell in Chef Tam
One thing’s for sure: the Signature Crab Shell (RM28) is a must-order. The stuffed crab meat is delightfully sweet and juicy, with a lightly crisp batter on top. A drop of vinegar goes a long way.
The Iberico Pork Fried Rice (RM58) is stellar as well. The grains are well separated with enough wok hei, and seasoned with a touch of ground black pepper. The pork is tender too.
This is a place best visited with a big group so you can try more dishes. Reservations are also recommended.
