[Halal] Délifrance is back!
We had many lovely memories with Délifrance in its previous iteration. As kids, we loved the chicken mushroom bechamel back in the day. Unfortunately, they no longer serve it now.
No matter. Délifrance has returned with a refreshed and modern look in Publika. We really love the space here – chairs arranged along the curbside to face the traffic (as they do in Paris, but nothing much to see here), and a spacious al-fresco seating that allows one to enjoy the fresh air while enjoying flaky croissants.
We came here after dinner (and just before iftar) to find plenty of seats, and a view of the sun dipping below the horizon. There was a buy-4-free-1 offer, so we did just that!
They offer plenty of pastries but we settled on these few: butter croissant, peach cheese danish, blueberry danish, almond croissant, and chocolate pot danish.
Peach cheese danish 
In our opinion, the pièce de résistance was the Peach Cheese Danish (RM9). The pastry was superbly flaky, topped with luscious peach slices, with cream on the inside. It was lovely – and quite comparable to the popular Peach Strudel at Kenny Hills Baker (see our post here).
Butter croissant 
The Butter Croissant (RM6.50) was a bit dry and flat when we had it at the store, but once we popped it into the oven back home – it came back to life with its beautiful layered flakiness. This reminded Ming of the same Délifrance croissants she had as a child – yums *crunch crunch.
Blueberry Danish 
The Blueberry Danish (RM7.50) was lovely as well – with a generous amount of blueberries on top and cream in the middle. It was not too sweet and we loved the addition of pistachio bits.

Almond croissant
The Chocolate Pot Danish was also quite decadent with chocolate and cheese cream. Our least favourite of the lot was the Almond Croissant – as it found it a bit tad too sweet and the icing sugar dump on top was just too much.
Besides pastries, they also serve hot meals, desserts, and sandwiches. Overall, we love the space and some of the French pastries. We’ll be back.
