“Oh, to have tasted love
at the tip of one’s tongue –
then, the caffeine hit!”
– A TKM haiku
[Pork-free, Muslim-friendly] We had a short pit-stop at Iron Tongue for a cuppa before our usual Sunday evening run.
Iron Tongue is located in a quiet Segambut neighbourhood, and just a 5-min drive away from Desa Parkcity.
The cafe is spacious and clean, with immaculate lines and gradients of white, black and grey. The coffee bar and black spiral staircase form the central focus of the space.
A chat with the friendly chap at the counter (Fabian was his name, if we recalled correctly) revealed that Ethiopian 🇪🇹 single-origin beans are served that day.
This was most excellent – our white was well-balanced and smooth, with nice chocolate-y hints. No food for us, as we were about to run.
However, we did spot a full-fledged kitchen at their disposal. Nourishing nosh is indeed served with lunchtime being the best bet for a visit given the opening hours of 9am-6.30pm.
It’s definitely one of the most comfortable cafes in that part of town.
