Handmade pasta at Rebel Pasta
[Pork-free] Duck rendang and handmade pasta, anybody?
We are of two minds about this place. Max enjoyed the pasta dishes but not so much for Ming.
Boom Duckalaka
Max found the house special – Boom Duckalaka (RM18.90) – to be quite yummy albeit a bit oily. The rendang spiced duck ragu is on the sour and tangy side and reminds him of Indonesian/Minang rendang. It’s not very spicy – which is good for a pasta dish.
Matcha Made in Atlantis
Ming’s Matcha Made in Atlantis (RM25.90) was brimming with ingredients. The fettucine was supposed to be made with some matcha but we couldn’t detect it. Ming found the pesto sauce slightly lacking but it was ok for Max.
There are total of 17 pasta dishes to choose from, with most priced below RM20. We appreciate the price.
Prawn and Cucumber Salad
For starters, we thought the Mushroom and Potato Soup (RM9.90) was diluted and bland, while the Prawn and Cucumber Salad (RM18.90) was quite nice.
It was cool watching the staff making fresh pasta at the front.
