Mouth Mee 嘴爱面 in Kepong
[Non-halal] Head over to Mouth Mee 嘴爱面 in Kepong if you’re craving for Sarawak laksa and kolo mee.
Opened by a relative of the popular Lin Li Xiang (LLX) in Damansara Jaya, we found the offerings and flavours to be very similar.

Mouth Mee in Kepong
Run by Kuching-ites, Mouth Mee in Kepong serves authentic Sarawakian dishes such as Sarawak laksa, Kolo Mee, and Tomato Mee.
While the former two are quite common dishes, we are happy to find that they also serve Manicai Bihun (one of our favourite dishes!) and Kiaw here.
Sarawak Laksa
We ordered the standard bowl of Sarawak Laksa (RM12) which comes with two prawns, sliced omelette, shredded chicken, and taugeh.
You can supersize your portion with the Sarawak Laksa Special (RM15) option – but we thought this was plenty enough. Compared to the bowl at LLX, you’ll notice that the soup is just enough to cover the noodles and may not be as generous. However, this is actually very true to the portion served in Kuching.
In terms of flavour, the broth here is robust with plenty of rempah bite and a good balance of lemak. It tasted very similar to LLX’s, if you must ask.
Prawns were fresh and each element worked well together.
Kolo Mee
The Kolo Mee (RM10) can be had here with your choice of red (char siew), white (vinegar), black (soy sauce) or chilli sauce. Noodles were authentically curly and springy, with plenty of liaw (char siew, fish cake, minced pork, liver, and balls) for a full meal.
We found the sauce to be very flavourful with enough lard for a savoury guilty pleasure. The bland soup is probably the only element that did not work here.
While not as rich or creamy as Ipoh coffee, the Sarawak coffee here is still a decent accompaniment to the noodle dishes.
Summary
In our view, Kepong folks should be pleased to have Mouth Mee as new spot for good Sarawakian food. The lady boss is also friendly and we found the space to be very comfortable and clean.
