[Halal] The watermelon cake at Naj & Belle is one of our favourites!
It’s light, juicy, and mildly sweet – which makes for one the best dessert when you don’t want something too heavy.
So we were quite happy to find that Naj & Belle has opened a new branch in Megah Rise Mall in PJ. This new spot is much closer to our home.

We’ve visited the new Megah Rise Mall a few times since we found out that it opened last month.
I mean, there are definitely way too many malls in PJ but we loved the fact that Megah Rise Mall at least offers a few interesting F&B spots, Village Grocer as an anchor tenant, and a badminton hall!
Megah Rise sits on what used to be Ming Tien food court (ah, the good old days of late-night supper while watching football), so a plethora of new restaurants in its place seems apt.
Among the restaurants we saw (including Staple Dough which we tried, see our post here), we were quite excited to see Naj & Belle as the cakes here are pretty solid.

This is the fourth and latest outlet for Naj & Belle.
To be sure, Naj & Belle offers a full menu of Western-style breakfasts, burgers, salads, and pasta.
We’ve tried their mains many years ago – but in the recent two visits, we just gunned straight for the desserts (coz they always look attractive, haha!).
Naj & Belle’s famous Watermelon Cake
The Watermelon Cake (RM21.90) is a signature. It comprises a juicy watermelon wedged in between cream and sponge cake with toppings of nuts, strawberries, grapes, and pumpkin seeds.
We really enjoyed this because of the lightness of the cream and the sponge that go well with the refreshing watermelon. The toppings also provide additional natural sweetness to the ensemble.
We think this Watermelon cake is comparable to the ones at Kooky Cream and CC by Mel.
Mango Pavlova and Date Night
We also enjoyed the Mango Pavlova (RM22.90). The meringue had a nice crisp crust that is well complemented by the cream, ripe mangoes, blueberries, and coconut flake. We liked that the mango was ripe and sweet.
Naj & Belle’s Date Night (RM22.90) should appease those who like their cake dense and full of chocolatey goodness.
