It’s our wedding anniversary! So we decided to not cook and order in today.
Based on friend’s recommendation, we finally tried the Banana Leaf Rice from Shockalingam.
Mutton combo Kotak set
We ordered their Mutton combo Kotak set (RM18), and opted for tamarind rice and mutton chukka varuval.
Sides dishes included vegetable kurma, pappadom, dried chillies, veggie chutney, and two veggie side dishes.

We loved the tamarind rice – it was flavourful, fluffy and fragrant. The mutton was tender with a nice spicy kick.
Chicken briyani
We also ordered the Chicken Briyani (RM22) – which comes with veggie dalcha, brinjal pachdi, onion raita, sweet tomato chutney and kessari dessert. We especially loved the sweet kessari dessert to fight the spices. Hehe.
We missed Masala Tea (RM5.50) so much – and enjoyed the cuppa to wash our food down! The food arrived still warm (yay!) and came with a very thoughtful note. Memang syiok!
