Oversea Restaurant, Imbi KL
[Non-halal] Oversea Restaurant on Jalan Imbi is one of the oldest and most popular Chinese restaurants in the heart of KL.
Oversea Restaurant specialises in Cantonese cuisine, and is particularly known for its roast duck and char siew.
While Oversea has expanded to a few branches in the Klang Valley, we decided to check out the OG venue in KL, as we were told that the original chef is still handling the wok there.

As it had been awhile since we were here, we decided to get the Signature Platter with the combination of Siew Yoke and Char Siew. For RM55, the plate was indeed pricey but at least the food was decent.
The char siew has a nice caramelised and stick exterior but the meat retained a firm bite with just a good amount of fat layer. Thankfully, it was not too greasy.
We thought the siew yoke was the better choice here as it retained the crispy pork skin and not overly salted. We liked that the meat-to-fat ratio was leaning towards the lean.

The HK Kai Lan (RM28) and Braised Tofu with Petola (RM30) met expectations.
