[Non-halal] During our recent day trip to Bentong ️town earlier this year, we wanted to try the famous wanton mee at Yuen Kie Kopitiam, but it was already sold out at 11am!
As we were walking around, we saw a queue at this chee cheong fun stall. So, it must be sedap right?
One of the best Chee Cheong Fun
Turns out – this homemade Chee Cheong Fun was one of the best we had!
The flat noodles were so smooth and silky – better than any we’ve had in KL. I think what made it exceptional is that it was cut so thinly and coated with the perfect amount of oil.
The sauce had the perfect ratio of sweetness and savoury (i.e. not overtly sweet), with the chilli paste providing a mild spicy kick.
The fuchuk was a standout – it is less salty and of a different quality vs. the ones we get in KL. Their yong tau foo (YTF) is great too!
Bentong is known for yong tau foo
Turns out – every kopitiam that we visited here in Bentong offer their own homemade selection of YTF. So, we definitely recommend trying the chee cheong fun and YTF here in Bentong.
This stall is located next to Restoran Ichiban Best and opposite the Chamang waterfall mural. It is at the intersection of Jalan Chui Yin and Jalan Wayang. You can’t miss the queue in front of it. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
